Fluorite with Galena on Quartz
Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, Weardale, County Durham, England
Sold
Small Cabinet
72 x 67 x 49 mm overall
Lustrous, sharp, green penetration-twins of Fluorite to 11 mm and many sharp, satiny dark-grey octahedrons of Galena to 11 x 9 mm partly cover a matrix of sparkly-white, small Quartz crystals. The Fluorites are daylight fluorescent as is typical for the Rogerley Mine. Galena and Fluorite combos from the Rogerley are not common. This is a top-notch specimen from the Black Sheep pocket (1999), with no damage.
