A single crystal of Elbaite (var. Indicolite) tourmaline with well-formed striations, which grades from gemmy rich-indicolite-blue at its base to more opaque, due to micro Albite inclusions, at its top termination. A dusting of sugary white Albite partly covers this flat termination. The base is not terminated. Acquired from well-known Brazilian dealer Luiz Menezes in the early 1990s, this is a fine Indicolite from this famous locality. No damage.
