Fluorite
Afton Canyon area, Cady Mts., San Bernardino Co., California, USA
Sold
Miniature
53 x 41 x 32 mm overall
Lustrous, translucent, medium- to dark-green, intergrown octahedrons of Fluorite to 22 mm across, accented with coatings of fine-grain white Quartz. California is not known for producing Fluorite, and there are only two localities that produce green (and octahedral!) Fluorites - this locality and the Felix prospect in Azusa; both of these localities are now closed to collecting. It is free of damage on the face. Strongly fluorescent in LW, and less so in SW, which is uncommon.
