Barite with Sulfur
Tarnobrzeg, Podkarpackie Province, Poland
Sold
Small Cabinet
87 x 67 x 65 mm overall
A pair of lustrous, botryoidal, crystallized "balls" of brown Barite are perched on matrix from one of the most famous Barite localities in Europe, in the sulphur-mining areas of Poland. Massive, yellow Sulphur provides a nice accent. This is a highly unusual and showy specimen, with the one complete, pristine, spherical mass of crystals measuring 38 x 25 x 25 mm. Rare combination material from this locale, as botryoidal Barite is uncommon. The old, original "Alpha Gems & Minerals", Fairfield, CT (1980-1986) label listed this as English, but it is clearly an old Tarnobrzeg piece.
