Fluorite with Quartz (RARE)

44 x 38 x 26 mm overall

Extremely rare Fluorite specimen. Several very dark-purple, well-formed octahedra of Fluorite to 31 x 26 mm with beveled edges. Small quartz crystal cluster on back of specimen. These Fluorites are so dark, you can almost see the photons bending towards the event horizon! There is a crack between one of the octahedrons that has been stabilized. This locality is in the Namib Naukluft Park and not accessible. The exact spot has probably been lost. In excellent condition, it is ex. David John Shawver collection.
