Fluorite with Quartz
William Wise Mine, Westmoreland, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire, USA
131 x 58 x 50 mm overall
up to 34 mm Fluorites
Transparent to translucent, sharply-formed, rich-green octahedral Fluorites to 34 mm are somewhat intergrown and perched on contrasting massive Quartz matrix, accented with smaller milky Quartz points to 13 mm in length. These Fluorite crystals have a very rich color for the locality, and are in excellent condition. It was formerly owned by Tom Hales, who cleaned many of these specimens in the early 1990s for the mine owner. Fluoresces dark purple under UV illumination. An excellent specimen, with the rarer combination of Fluorite and Quartz, from this historic New England locale.
