Fluorite
Fontsante Mine, Massif de Tanneron, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France
$350
Small Cabinet
74 x 65 x 33 mm overall
Colorless, transparent, glassy, cubic crystals of Fluorite to 7 mm make up this specimen. Fluorites on the reverse side are partly covered with a white coating and accented with sparkly, brassy Chalcopyrite. The margins seem recrystallized with a sugary texture, and only one area of cleavage was seen on one margin. This is from a rare French locality, and represents a very good quality for this mine which closed in 1987. ex. Rocksmiths specimen.
