Sphalerite with Quartz and Chalcopyrite

This flashy specimen of sharp, well-formed, lustrous dark Sphalerite is accented by two incredibly sharp translucent whitish Quartz crystals to 22 mm. Sublustrous and sharp, slightly rounded blades of brassy Chalcopyrite to 12 mm provide a nice accent. The Sphalerite crystals show gemmy green color under good light. This nice sculptural specimen has peripheral contacts where removed, but displays great. Specimens from the Konski dol Mine are hard to find on the market anymore as the mine closed years ago, but during it's operation the mine was the source of some of the finest specimens of its day.
