Andradite garnet with Quartz
Cerro el Toro, Municipio de Alamos, Sonora, Mexico
$90
Miniature
58 x 49 x 37 mm overall
Lustrous, root beer-brown to yellowish-brown Andradite crystals to 32 mm make up this seemingly floater specimen. Small, gemmy, orangish Andradite and clear needles of Quartz provide an accent. Many faces are complexly crystallized or show negative growths. This is from a small skarn discovered and collected in 1997 by Marty Houhoulis. Only a few good specimens were recovered.
