Tunellite
Kramer open pit, Kramer District, Boron, Kern County, California, USA
$385
Miniature
47 x 42 x 24 mm overall
This fine specimen consists of the multiple crystals of Tunellite from the Type Locality, with sharp form, pearlescent luster, and translucence. Tunellite is a rare hydrated strontium borate, first discovered at the U.S. Borax Mine in 1961. It is in excellent condition, and cleaved on the reverse. This is from only the second find at the mine, in 2004. A very nice specimen.
