Grossular garnet
Sierra de Cruces, Municipio de Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico
$650
Small Cabinet
88 x 75 x 74 mm overall
Sharp, lustrous, richly-colored purplish-pink crystal of Grossular garnet to 20 x 19 mm cover grey matrix. A group of smaller pink garnets provide additional contrast on the matrix. Like all these specimens, this garnet was mechanically excavated without any repairs, with some minor chipping and a few incomplete crystals, as is normal with these specimens. This specimen is way above average in color and presentation, and was collected December of 1992 by Graham Sutton and Bob Griffis.
Specimen # SC019
