Dioptase on Chrysocolla

29 x 17 x 16 mm overall

Sharp, lustrous green Dioptase crystal with a well-developed pinacoid termination, to 2.3 mm long, pokes through sparkly Quartz points coating a crust of light-blue Chrysocolla on dark quartzite matrix. This is one of a small batch of specimens collected in May 1992 by Pat, who was a shift boss at the Ray Mine. I acquired the entire lot a few days later. No damage.
