Orthoclase twin with Quartz (v. Smoky)
Baveno, on Lago Maggiore, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola Province, Piedmont Region, Italy
41 x 34 x 27 mm overall
This is an attractive combo with a flesh-colored Baveno-twin of Orthoclase combined with a similar-sized, light-smoky Quartz point. The lustrous Quartz terminates in two distinct points - one of which has a very small ding, measures 41 x 34 x 27 mm, and has two sides that are slightly frosted and covered with bright specks of Hematite. The Orthoclase is 31 x 11 x 11 mm in size and is partly covered with small Quartz points. This is an nicely aesthetic specimen from the type locality for Baveno twins, and is in very good condition. It is an ex. Filer's Mineral (Redlands, CA) specimen and ex. Don Boydston collection.
