Small Cabinet
69 x 50 x 13 mm
Barite is known from thousands of localities around the world, but the ones from the ancient Laurion mining district are beautiful and distinctive. Many of them often have a golden or even an orange hue, but good red Barite specimens are highly sought. This specimen has beautiful, sharp, lustrous, bladed crystal groups of orange-red Barite on matrix. Individual Barite crystals are up to 12 mm across. The color in person is redder than the pinkish color of the photographs. This is an aesthetic and important specimen with no damage.
