Epidote
Bourg d'Oisans, Isère, Rhone-Alpes Region, France
142 x 74 x 45 mm overall
with up to 33 mm Epidote
A fine old classic specimen of lustrous, olive-green, subparallel crystals of Epidote to 33 mm long, all perfectly terminated. From the type locality for Epidote, this is obviously a large section of one side of an open vein, and is in pristine condition with only minor damage around the periphery where it was removed. Previously owned by Richard Hauck, this is one of the finest and largest of these I have seen.
