Elmwood Mine, Middle Tennessee District, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, USA
Sold
Small Cabinet
78 x 72 x 44 mm overall
A pair of pale-yellow, spherical aggregates to 49 mm across, made up of lustrous Barite crystals, are perched on matrix covered with many lustrous, translucent, white, curved rhombs of Dolomite to 4.5 mm. A gemmy, lustrous, wet-looking cube of purple Fluorite with sharp zoning, measuring 16 mm across is nestled in one of the Barites. There is an apparent small contact on one edge. The Barite fluoresces red under UV. This is a very fine cabinet specimen from this now defunct American classic locality.
