Beryl ( v. Heliodor )
Aqua Vermelha, Padre Paraíso region, Minas Gerais, Brazil
29 x 8 x 6 mm overall
This gemmy, transparent golden Beryl (v. Heliodor) crystal measures 29 x 6 x 6 mm with a small sidecar Heliodor, both with well-formed, tapered pyramidal terminations. Unlike many Brazilian Heliodors, this does not have any greenish tones, and has great clarity. Ed Swoboda personally picked this high quality piece in the 1960s and held it for over 30 years, when I purchased it in the early 1990s. This superb, high quality specimen displays well from all sides. The base of the crystal appears to be rehealed, with only a few, very trivial conchoidal chips. No damage on the barrel and termination.
